Fighting the Ideology of Terrorism
November 7 at 6 PM in 164 Science Building
The Daniel Pearl Foundation was formed in memory of journalist Daniel Pearl to further the ideals that inspired Daniel's life and work. The foundation's mission is to promote cross-cultural understanding through journalism, music, and innovative communications.
Professor Pearl speaks nationally and abroad on the subject of global peace-making, frequently teaming up with Akbar Ahmed, a leading Islamic scholar, in order to lead public dialogues about the divisions between Muslims and the West and between Jews and Muslims, and to carve a path for mutual understanding between the two communities.
This event is free and open to the public. A falafel reception precedes the lecture at 5 PM, Paseo Plaza Condominiums, 144 S. 3rd St. (Across the street from the Science Building, and down the Togo’s walkway to 3rd St.) Please RSVP to victoria.harrison@sjsu.edu or 924-5547
Cosponsors: The College of Applied Sciences and Arts, College of Social Science, Communications Studies Department, Global Studies Program, Hillel of Silicon Valley, History Department, Humanities Department, Jewish Studies Program, Middle East Studies Program, and School of Journalism and Mass Communications
